The Museum of Arts and Crafts immerses visitors in the heart of the captivating world of exploration. From the abyssal depths to the confines of space, the exhibition "Exploring the Infinitely..." transports you to discover distant lands, sometimes out of reach.
Date: 17 October 2023 to May 12, 2024
Location: Arts and Crafts Museum
Desire: Science, Space, Environment, Experiences
Since time immemorial, humanity has probed its environment, seeking to decipher the mysteries that surround it. However, this exploratory quest cannot be reduced to a simple curious approach. It also represents a conquering enterprise, most often motivated by economic or scientific concerns aimed at consolidating its influence or improving the living conditions - even survival - of all of humanity.
Researchers and curious minds began their explorations with the naked eye, then they gradually equipped themselves with ever more sophisticated instruments to try to unravel the mysteries of these unexplored worlds. Beyond observation, they also set out to conquer these territories, inventing ever faster means of transport and machines of increasing sophistication to reach previously inaccessible places.
From their explorations, they developed representations, mapped the new horizons discovered and sought to interpret them. Initially with sketches, maps, globes, models, today, thanks to digital modeling or artificial intelligence.
Then, they sought to interact with these unexplored territories, to master them, to develop them, with the aim of transforming them into emergency planets, into providers of resources for humanity, or even into receptacles for the most improbable utopias.
From the conquest of the poles tothe exploration of space, this exhibition invites us on a journey in five stages, to the confines of the known world. Embark on an adventure aboard a Martian rover, carry out an investigation to date the remains of the past, dive into the oceanic abysses, or let yourself be traversed by a shower of neutrinos in an exhibition which highlights the experience and discoveries.
